regulatory body is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its growing
Enforcement Policy team. Working in a highly respected public interest
environment, you will help shape policy and provide legal guidance on complex
investigations, enforcement activity and regulatory decision-making.This is an
opportunity to work on high-profile matters with genuine public impact,
alongside lawyers, investigators, accountants and senior stakeholders across
the organisation.Your new role Reporting into
the Head of Enforcement Policy, you will play a key role in advising on the
legal and policy issues arising from complex investigations and enforcement
cases.This is a broad,
non-traditional role combining legal advisory work, policy development and
strategic support. You will help ensure policies and procedures remain legally
robust and up to date, provide advice to investigation teams, support major
projects and oversee a Legal Assistant.Key
responsibilities include: Advising on legal and
policy issues arising from investigations and enforcement activity. Reviewing and developing
policies, procedures and guidance. Monitoring legislative and
regulatory developments. Drafting briefing papers
and advice for senior stakeholders. Supporting strategic
projects across the organisation. Providing pragmatic ad hoc
legal advice. Supervising and developing
a Legal Assistant. Working closely with
lawyers, investigators, accountants and senior leadership teams. This role offers
significant variety and would suit somebody who enjoys solving complex
problems, managing competing priorities and working across a wide range of
legal issues.What you'll need to succeed You will be a
qualified Solicitor or Barrister with approximately 6-10 years' PQE (guideline
only) and experience gained within a regulator, public body, government
department or similar environment.You will ideally
have: Strong public sector
and/or regulatory experience. Experience advising on
policy development and implementation. A background in
investigations, enforcement or complex civil litigation. Excellent analytical and
drafting skills. The ability to engage
confidently with senior stakeholders. A pragmatic and
solutions-focused approach. Experience managing
multiple work streams simultaneously. A collaborative and
personable style. Candidates do not
need prior experience within this specific regulatory sector. Applications are
