About the role
Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with an established and growing manufacturing business to recruit a Logistics Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and working collaboratively across the wider business.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the logistics function by driving continuous improvement, strengthening supplier relationships and delivering an outstanding service to customers. You'll join a business that is investing in its operations and values practical ideas that make a measurable difference.
The Opportunity:
As a Logistics Manager, you'll play a key role in:
Taking ownership of all inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring products are delivered efficiently, on time and in line with customer expectations.
Managing inbound freight, coordinating supplier deliveries and working with logistics partners to ensure materials are available to support production.
Managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers, monitoring performance against agreed service levels and driving continuous improvements in delivery, quality and cost.
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, holding partners accountable while working collaboratively to improve operational performance.
Monitoring and improving key logistics KPIs, including OTIF, lead times, service levels and transport performance, using data to identify trends and opportunities.
Leading continuous improvement initiatives to optimise logistics processes, reduce costs and enhance the customer experience.
Working closely with internal stakeholders across operations, procurement and customer service to improve communication and ensure a seamless supply chain.
Supporting the implementation and development of logistics systems and processes as the business continues to invest in its operational capability.
Providing oversight of warehouse and fulfilment activities, ensuring effective inventory management, dispatch operations and warehouse performance in support of the wider logistics function. Your work will directly contribute to improving logistics performance, strengthening supplier partnerships, reducing operational costs and delivering an exceptional service to customers.
About You:
We're looking for someone who can bring:
Previous experience in a Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management role within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Proven experience managing 3PL providers and supplier relationships, with a track record of improving service delivery and performance.
Strong understanding of logistics KPIs, including OTIF, service levels, transport performance and cost control.
Experience identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across logistics or supply chain operations.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence both internal teams and external partners.
A data-driven, analytical approach with the ability to turn insight into measurable logistics improvements.
Experience with ERP, WMS or transport management systems would be advantageous.
An understanding of warehouse operations, with the ability to provide oversight and support where required, rather than being directly warehouse focused.
The Benefits and Package: In return, you'll enjoy:
Salary of £35,000 to £40,000.
Opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing business.
A varied role with genuine ownership and autonomy.
Supportive and collaborative working environment.
Opportunities to develop your career as the business continues to grow.
