Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in South East London?
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school environment, starting ASAP.
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs, providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom and helping pupils to reach their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
* Support children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and other SEN requirements.
* Assist pupils with literacy, phonics and reading development.
* Support children with dyslexia, dyslexia-related learning difficulties and other specific learning needs.
* Provide support with phonics, language and communication development.
* Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to implement individual support strategies.
* Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
* Support pupils with their behaviour and emotional regulation where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
* Has experience supporting pupils with ASD/Autism and/or other additional needs.
* Has knowledge or experience of phonics, literacy, dyslexia or specific learning difficulties.
* Is patient, empathetic and genuinely passionate about supporting children.
* Can build positive relationships with pupils and encourage their confidence and independence.
* Is reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
* Has excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA or equivalent experience is desirable. Relevant qualifications are welcome but not essential where strong practical SEN experience is demonstrated.
