Full-time | 8.30am-3.30pm | Long-term and ongoing opportunities
Premier Education is recruiting enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants for long-term roles in schools along Manchester's A6 corridor, including Ardwick, Longsight and Levenshulme.
These locations are ideal for commuters, with frequent bus services along Stockport Road, nearby rail connections and straightforward access from Manchester city centre, Stockport and surrounding South Manchester areas.
The roles are particularly suited to teaching assistants who enjoy delivering focused one-to-one and small-group interventions and helping primary-aged children make measurable progress.
About the schools
We work with welcoming primary schools that are committed to providing children with an inclusive, engaging and supportive education.
The schools support pupils across the primary age range, from Early Years through to Year 6. Staff work collaboratively to identify gaps in learning, build children's confidence and ensure that pupils receive the targeted support they need.
You may work with children who require additional help with:
Phonics and early reading
Reading fluency and comprehension
Writing, spelling and grammar
Early number skills and mathematics
Speech, language and communication
Concentration and classroom engagement
Confidence, independence and social skills
Special educational needs and disabilities
The role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to deliver targeted interventions and reinforce classroom learning.
Your responsibilities may include:
Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions
Supporting pupils with phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
Using teacher-prepared plans and resources to deliver structured activities
Helping pupils revisit learning and overcome specific barriers
Supporting children with SEND or additional learning needs
Encouraging positive learning habits, confidence and independence
Monitoring pupils' participation, understanding and progress
Recording intervention outcomes and providing feedback to the class teacher
Supporting learning within the classroom when interventions are not taking place
Helping pupils manage routines, transitions and social situations
Creating a positive, inclusive and encouraging learning environment
Following safeguarding, behaviour and school policies
The precise year group and intervention focus will depend on the needs of each school. Opportunities may be available across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Have supported learning in a school or similar educational setting
Are confident delivering one-to-one and small-group activities
Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum

Are reliable and available full-time from 8.30am until 3.30pm
