Salary: Up to £140,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Cyber Defence to join a leading global technology and consulting organisation.

This is a senior, market-facing role focused on Microsoft Security, SOC transformation and cyber defence architecture. You’ll work with enterprise clients to modernise their security operations, improve detection and response, and maximise their investment in Microsoft Security technologies.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the architecture and delivery of Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR and MXDR solutions.
• Shape enterprise SOC and Security Operations transformation programmes.
• Advise senior stakeholders, including CISOs and security leadership teams.
• Lead client workshops, solution shaping, proposals and executive presentations.
• Develop cyber defence offerings, accelerators and go-to-market propositions.
• Provide technical leadership and delivery assurance across major security engagements.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex Sentinel, Defender and managed security challenges.
• Mentor and develop architects and consultants across the Cyber Security practice.
• Support business growth through strategic client relationships and opportunity development.

What We’re Looking For

• Extensive experience in Cyber Defence, Security Operations, SOC transformation or Security Architecture.
• Strong expertise across Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender XDR.
• Experience with Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365 and/or Defender for Cloud Apps.
• Strong understanding of SIEM, XDR, SOAR, detection engineering and threat hunting.
• Experience designing solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex client engagements and solutioning opportunities.
• Strong commercial awareness and executive-level communication skills.
• Experience developing security propositions or offerings is highly desirable.
• Microsoft certifications such as SC-100 / SC-200 are advantageous.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent certifications are beneficial.

You understand how enterprise SOCs operate and can translate complex security challenges into practical, scalable and commercially viable solutions.
