The Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the kitchen, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food while maintaining strong operational standards, team development and financial performance. You will work closely with senior leadership and venue management to develop menus that celebrate quality seasonal ingredients and classic pub dining, while maintaining efficiency, strong gross profit margins and a positive kitchen culture.

What Youll Be Doing as a Head Chef
Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team, creating a positive and high-performing kitchen culture
Managing kitchen rotas and labour budgets using Deputy
Recruiting, training and developing kitchen staff to build a strong brigade
Conducting performance reviews and coaching team members to maintain high standards
Managing supplier relationships and sourcing quality ingredients in line with seasonal availability
Monitoring stock levels, ordering and deliveries using MarketMan
Ensuring all food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards are consistently maintained
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen
Ensuring new team members receive a structured induction and ongoing development
What Were Looking For
Previous experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef ready to step up
Experience leading kitchens in a high-volume, quality-focused pub or hospitality environment
Experience supporting or leading new openings is highly desirable
Strong leadership skills with experience building and developing kitchen teams
Proven experience managing food costs, stock control and kitchen budgets
Experience developing seasonal menus and working with fresh ingredients
Strong understanding of classic pub food and neighbourhood dining culture
Strong organisational and operational skills
Excellent understanding of food safety, HACCP and kitchen compliance
Calm leadership during busy services and high-pressure periods
Passion for food quality, team culture and hospitality standards
A proactive leader who enjoys mentoring chefs and improving kitchen performance
