Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, currently seeks a Design Coordinator/On-site Design Manager to join their team for an exciting contract position. This opportunity involves supporting HS2 MWCC with a concentration on the Construction Phase Support.Key Responsibilities:Delivering all specified project outcomes on time, within budget, and to the client's specificationsCoordinating project technical discipline teams to ensure all technical requirements are fully metProducing technically sound design solutions in line with reporting and cost estimating, within programme timelines and budgetEnsuring compliance with all relevant technical standardsProviding advice and guidance to staff and actively pursuing professional developmentDeveloping design deliverables (drawings, reports, specifications) in accordance with relevant standards and client requirementsLiaising with construction teams to ensure designs are buildable and value for moneyDeveloping and maintaining hazard/risk registers for allocated design packagesPreparing and checking engineering designs, calculations, and managing design productionEnsuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, particularly the CDM RegulationsHandling project administration and reporting to the Design or Engineering ManagerMaintaining client and third-party liaison and developing strong client relationshipsJob Requirements:Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related fieldExperience in civil engineering and design within the rail industryChartered status with ICE, CIOB, or RIBA (desirable)Membership of relevant professional bodiesStrong understanding of Railway Group and Network Rail Company standardsProficiency in developing design deliverables and managing design productionAbility to communicate effectively with construction teams and other stakeholdersKnowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulationsIf you are an experienced Design Coordinator or On-site Design Manager looking to contribute to a landmark project, we would love to hear from you.
