Transport General Cargo Specialist

This role sits within the General Cargo Transport Domestic organisation and supports the UK transport network during a period of organisational change. You'll act as the local representative for General Cargo Transport Domestic, working closely with internal customers (Supply Chain Logistics, FAL, Procurement) and external transport providers. In support of the Transport General Cargo Domestic Manager you will be responsible for the LTP contract compliance and will represent General Cargo Transport Domestic locally to internal customers (SCL, FALs, Procurement), as well as to vendors, customers and other Group affiliates. Key responsibilities include: Managing inbound & outbound general cargo transport flows

Ensuring service level performance and compliance with the Lead Transport Provider (LTP)

Creating transport specifications and supporting SLA implementation

Coordinating cross-plant transport processes

Handling complaints, claims, change requests and ad-hoc transport needs

Supporting process improvement, IT tool implementation and transport rationalisation

Working with management on new processes and continuous improvement

What they're looking for: Strong transport/logistics experience (general cargo ideal)

Excellent communication & organisational skills

Confident decision-maker able to work independently

Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and suppliers

Negotiation-level English

Occasional travel flexibility
