Hours: 39.5 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 08:00–16:30
Friday: 08:00–16:00
Break: 30 minutes
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Assembly Team Leader to organise and lead the day-to-day activities of an Assembly team.
You will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved safely, on time and to the required quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will organise workloads, monitor performance, support employees and quickly escalate any issues that could affect production.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and allocate daily workloads in line with production schedules and deadlines.
* Set clear priorities, job timings and output expectations for the team.
* Monitor progress throughout the shift and take action when production falls behind target.
* Carry out first-off and regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
* Identify and contain quality issues, arranging rework where required.
* Lead daily team briefings and communicate priorities, changes and potential issues.
* Support, coach and train team members, including new starters.
* Monitor team productivity, attendance, timekeeping and working standards.
* Identify delays, bottlenecks, material shortages and opportunities to improve efficiency.
* Maintain accurate production, quality and performance records.
* Escalate issues affecting quality, staffing, materials, output or deadlines to the line manager promptly.
* Ensure the work area is clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
* Experience within assembly, manufacturing, production, finishing or packing.
* Previous Team Leader, Supervisor or team coordination experience.
* Strong organisation and time-management skills.
* Experience working to production targets and deadlines.
* Good understanding of quality checks and production standards.
* Confidence leading a team and addressing performance issues.
* Good communication and practical problem-solving skills.
* A hands-on, reliable and proactive approach.
* The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
