From highways and drainage to earthworks and structures, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring every element is constructed to the correct line, level, and alignment.Using industry-leading Trimble technology, you’ll support projects from start to finish while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.What You’ll Be DoingAs a Setting Out Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Accurately setting out civil engineering works using GPS, total stations, and traditional surveying equipmentUsing Trimble hardware and software for surveying, setting out, and digital data managementInterpreting drawings, specifications, and digital design models to ensure precise implementation on siteCarrying out topographical, control, and as-built surveysEstablishing and maintaining site control points, datums, and benchmarksVerifying line, level, and alignment for earthworks, drainage, roads, and structuresCoordinating setting-out activities with site management, subcontractors, and operativesIdentifying and helping resolve design discrepancies and technical issuesSupporting quality assurance processes, ITPs, and as-built documentationMaintaining accurate survey records and site dataMentoring junior engineers and site staff when requiredWhat We’re Looking ForEssential Skills and ExperienceProven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil engineering projectsStrong hands-on experience with Trimble GPS, total stations, and associated softwareExcellent understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and survey techniquesAbility to work independently and prioritise workload effectivelyStrong communication and teamwork skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityDesirableExperience in highways, drainage, earthworks, or major infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with BIM models and digital engineering workflowsRelevant CSCS cardSMSTS or SSSTS certificationQualificationsHNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)Why Join?This is an opportunity to work on some of Scotland’s most exciting infrastructure projects, using cutting-edge surveying technology and collaborating with experienced professionals across the industry.If you’re a driven Setting Out Engineer ready to take your career to the next level, we’d love to hear from you.
