Were looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of major water and wastewater projects. In this role, youll lead the development of innovative Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) solutions, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, high-quality outcomes that make a real difference to customers, communities and the environment. What youll be doing- Leading the technical delivery of EICA design solutions across a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. - Managing projects through feasibility, outline design and detailed design stages through to construction support and commissioning. - Providing technical leadership and engineering assurance across electrical design activities. - Developing innovative, practical and cost-effective engineering solutions that deliver value for clients and stakeholders. - Reviewing and approving engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, reports and contract documentation. - Collaborating closely with process, mechanical and civil disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions. - Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted technical advisor. - Supporting tender development, cost estimating and bid submissions for new project opportunities. - Managing project resources, budgets, programmes and technical performance across multiple projects. - Mentoring and developing engineers, supporting professional growth and fostering a high-performance team culture. - Providing technical support during construction and commissioning, resolving complex engineering challenges. - Driving innovation, continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies and best practices. - Championing a culture of safety, quality, sustainability and engineering excellence. What were looking for- Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure or process industries. - Proven ability to lead the production, review and approval of complex electrical design deliverables. - Strong knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) systems and their application within industrial environments. - Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and coordinating technical teams. - Sound understanding of electrical distribution systems, motor control centres, instrumentation and control systems. - Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations). - Ability to develop practical, buildable engineering solutions while balancing technical, commercial and operational requirements. - Experience preparing cost estimates, technical proposals and tender submissions. - Excellent stakeholder management, communication and client-facing skills. - Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership desirable.Why join?This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects that support essential services and improve environmental outcomes.
