Test Team Lead Cambridge | On-site (5 days) Up to £80k + benefits Do you enjoy combining hands-on RF and electronics verification work with leading and developing a team of engineers? Do you want to shape the test automation strategy behind mission-critical communication products used around the world? We're working with an established UK technology business developing mission-critical communications products for organisations that depend on reliable connectivity, as they look to appoint an Electronics Test & Automation Team Leader. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining people management with genuine engineering responsibility. You'll define the electronics verification strategy for RF and electronic subsystems, review and approve test plans, procedures and reports, and act as technical authority across the team's verification activities. You'll also lead the roadmap for test automation, driving development of Python-based frameworks to improve coverage, efficiency and repeatability across RF and Baseband testing. Alongside this, you'll lead complex root-cause investigations, support Design of Experiments work, and work closely with Hardware, Firmware and Systems Engineering to get products successfully through to production. On the people side, you'll lead and develop a team of test and automation engineers - running 1:1s and performance reviews, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and building technical capability and succession planning within the team. What You'll Bring: Proven experience leading technical engineering teams Significant experience in RF and/or electronics verification Experience with communication systems (LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, etc.) Experience developing automated test solutions using Python Experience planning and executing verification campaigns, including root-cause analysis and fault investigation Working knowledge of RF test equipment - spectrum analysers, vector signal generators, network analysers, oscilloscopes and RF test platforms Confidence working across cross-functional development teams, with strong stakeholder communication skillsAlso Valued: Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology Experience with Jira for defect management Experience with environmental test equipment A full, clean driving licence and access to a car for occasional UK travel This would suit an engineer who's as comfortable getting into the detail of a fault investigation as they are coaching a team, setting strategy and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
