About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a Local Government delivery team supporting a county council professional services contract. Based in central Gloucester, you'll help deliver a growing programme of geotechnical, highways, bridges and infrastructure schemes across the county, with a strong emphasis on practical assessment, design and proportionate risk management. You'll be part of an established team with excellent local knowledge, supported by a wider UK network of geotechnical specialists who provide additional resource and technical expertise. The county's varied geology, topography and highway network creates recurring challenges including slopes, embankments, retaining structures, landslips and resilience issues. The 2026/27 financial year is a key period, with increased investment in the geotechnical programme in response to the frequency and impact of geotechnical events across the region.
