A high-performing secondary school in Newham is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis until July 2027.

Graduate Teaching Assistant – What the School Offers
• Full academic year placement from September 2026 to July 2027
• Weekly pay of £444–£513 via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
• Ongoing CPD focused on classroom practice, behaviour management and safeguarding
• Opportunities to work alongside experienced teachers and middle leaders
• Exposure to intervention programmes designed to raise attainment across KS3 and KS4
• Excellent preparation for future teacher training applications
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 within lessons and intervention sessions
• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group academic support
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Helping pupils build confidence, engagement and independence in learning
• Supporting students who require additional academic or pastoral guidance
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds a 2:1 degree or higher from a leading UK university
• Has previous child-centred experience through tutoring, mentoring, coaching or similar settings
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Possesses a genuine interest in education and supporting young people to succeed
