Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Bristol
Pay: £110 – £130 per day
Contract: Temporary / Long-Term / Temp-to-Perm
Schedule: Monday to Friday, term time, Part/Full Time.
M&M Supply is an education recruitment agency looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with schools across Bristol.
We are looking for confident support staff who are comfortable taking greater responsibility within the classroom, including leading small groups, delivering planned lessons and providing whole-class cover when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or qualified HLTA looking for a new role within a supportive school environment.
The Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
* Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities in the absence of the class teacher
* Leading small-group interventions and targeted learning sessions
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
* Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and classroom resources
* Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
* Helping pupils remain engaged and make progress with their learning
* Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
* Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil progress
* Supporting the implementation of individual learning plans and EHCP targets where appropriate
* Contributing to the wider school community and maintaining high safeguarding standards
What We're Looking For
Ideally, applicants will have:
* HLTA status/qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level
* Previous experience working within a UK school
* Confidence delivering learning activities and providing classroom cover
* Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
* A good understanding of safeguarding within education
* The ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
* A flexible, reliable and professional approach
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, autism or ADHD would also be beneficial.
