About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Engagement Manager to take a leading role in managing and coordinating the organisation’s relationship with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA).
Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.
This is a high-profile role within a highly regulated insurance environment, acting as the central point of coordination for regulatory engagement across the business.
You will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across Compliance, Risk, Legal, Company Secretariat and the wider business to ensure regulatory interactions are proactive, well prepared, consistent and effectively governed.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading coordination of FCA and PRA meetings, supervisory reviews and wider regulatory interactions.
- Managing regulatory requests and submissions, ensuring responses are accurate, timely and appropriately evidenced.
- Preparing senior executives for regulatory meetings, including briefings, key messages, likely areas of challenge and rehearsals.
- Maintaining oversight of regulatory commitments, actions, deadlines and evidence of completion.
- Providing constructive challenge to stakeholders and ensuring a consistent "single version of the truth" in regulatory communications.
- Monitoring FCA/PRA regulatory developments and supervisory priorities.
- Providing practical insight to senior stakeholders on emerging regulatory expectations.
- Working collaboratively across Compliance, Risk, Legal, Company Secretariat and business teams to strengthen the organisation's regulatory engagement framework.
About you
You will have at least five years' experience within regulatory engagement, regulatory compliance, risk, legal, governance or a similar financial services environment.
Crucially, you will be able to demonstrate hands-on experience of regulatory interaction, rather than simply an understanding of regulation.
You will ideally have:
- Direct experience engaging with the FCA, PRA or another financial services regulator.
- Strong understanding of UK financial services regulation.
- Experience coordinating regulatory requests, submissions, meetings or supervisory reviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple regulatory commitments and deadlines.
- Strong regulatory judgement and the ability to anticipate areas of regulatory challenge.
Experience within UK general insurance would be particularly advantageous, alongside knowledge of areas such as Consumer Duty, SM&CR, operational resilience, conduct risk, regulatory reporting and governance.
This is an opportunity for an experienced regulatory professional to play a central role in shaping and strengthening the organisation's relationship with its key regulators. xwzovoh
