This is not a conventional fundraising role.
Inside Track is building the philanthropic base behind a new form of insider-led change. It works with experienced people inside powerful industries to surface what they can see about the norms, incentives and structures shaping poor social and environmental outcomes, then helps that insight reach the people and institutions best placed to act.
Inside Track is independently funded. It does not take corporate, government or lobbyist money. Aligned philanthropy is central to its independence, credibility and long-term impact.
We are looking for a senior major gifts fundraiser who can help build trusted relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices and aligned philanthropists.
The Head of Philanthropy will shape the major donor strategy, strengthen the case for support, support donor relationships and help secure significant gifts from people who understand the value of careful, high-trust, public-interest work.
This is a building role: a chance to help create the philanthropy capability for a young organisation with a distinctive model and serious ambition.
Responsibilities
The Head of Philanthropy will:
- develop and deliver a focused major donor strategy;
- build a pipeline of high-net-worth individuals, family offices and aligned individual philanthropists;
- shape a clear and compelling case for support;
- lead or support donor cultivation, asks and stewardship;
- support the founder and wider team in high-value donor conversations;
- bring structure, discipline and momentum to the fundraising pipeline;
- help Inside Track build a thoughtful, credible and relationship-led philanthropy function.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with significant major donor fundraising experience.
Candidates should bring:
- at least 6 years’ relevant professional experience;
- at least 3 years running or delivering major gift fundraising programmes;
- a track record of securing gifts of £25,000+ from individual donors;
- confidence engaging high-net-worth individuals, family offices and senior philanthropic stakeholders;
- strong relationship-building, judgement and discretion;
- the ability to communicate complex, sensitive and high-leverage work clearly;
- a serious commitment to social and environmental change.
Experience with trusts, foundations or institutional funders would be useful, but this is primarily a major gifts and HNW philanthropy role.
