SEN Teacher
Location: Knowle, Birmingham
Pay rate: Paid to scale
Connex Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a welcoming SEN school in Knowle, Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEMH.
The Role:
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with autism. Working within a supportive and experienced team, you will create a structured and nurturing environment that promotes learning, independence and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver creative, personalised lessons in line with EHCP targets
Support pupils with a range of communication and sensory needs
Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals
Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining accurate records
Foster a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent/experience
Experience working with children with autism and additional needs
A patient, empathetic and flexible approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of strategies such as PECS, Makaton or TEACCH (desirable)
