We are seeking a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary Shift Engineer with expertise in a variety of trades, including Mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance. This position requires a flexible, proactive individual who will be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of the site.
The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities, good communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. A company van will be provided to support travel between locations.
Working Hours: 12 Hour Shift Continental Shift Pattern
Operationally
Comply with all requirements of the Client contract and meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators

Operate all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective, and efficient manner (including HV operations where required).

Ensure regular plant inspections, works inspections and audits are carried out to drive operational excellence across the site.

Monitor and operate building automation systems (BAS) including HVAC, lighting, security, fire alarm, and energy management systems

Respond to system alerts and alarms, diagnosing and resolving issues or escalating as needed

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on smart building technologies and equipment

Troubleshoot IoT devices, sensors, controllers, and network connectivity issues

Execute programming changes to building systems as directed by engineering team

Monitor energy usage patterns and implement efficiency measures according to established protocols

Document all maintenance activities, system adjustments, and technical issues in digital management systems

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs

Respond to occupant comfort requests and technical support needs during shift

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of building systems integration and dependencies

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
HV/LV authorised person AP15 - Refresher training can be provided

Current Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation Regulations or equivalent Mechanical engineering qualification

HNC & HND in an engineering discipline

Confined Authorised person - Refresher training can be provided

Mechanical Pressure authorised person - Refresher training can be provided

Experience with building automation systems and integrated smart building technologies

Basic programming and configuration skills for smart building systems

Strong troubleshooting abilities and analytical thinking

Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Required Skills and Experience:
City & Guilds Level 3 NQV in electrical/mechanical discipline

Has worked within a Critical Engineering Facility

Strong PC literacy and able to manage daily activities using various systems, such as BMS, and other computerized control/monitoring system
