About the role
Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer – BakerHicks
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to join BakerHicks, supporting the expansion of our Land Quality and Geo-Environmental capability across the UK.
Skills and Experience
- Experience within a Geo-Environmental or Engineering Consultancy at Senior Engineer, Principal Engineer or equivalent level
- Chartered membership (SocEnv, Geological Society, CIWEM or similar)
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Applied Geology or related discipline
- Experience delivering Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports and risk assessments
- Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and sampling methods
- Familiarity with current UK standards and guidance
- Commercial awareness including budgets and delivery timelines
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
- Full UK driving licence
- Soil classification tools such as HazWasteOnline or WM3
- Input to fee proposals
- Sector experience in aviation, infrastructure, nuclear or life sciences

Security clearance or assurance levels may be required. The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements. In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.
