Commissioning Engineer (M&E) - AWE Burghfield Location: AWE Burghfield (site-based, full-time) Rate: £500-£600/day (Umbrella PAYE, Inside IR35 - all-in) Duration: ASAP - September 2026 Clearance: SC preferred (must be eligible to obtain) We are seeking experienced Mechanical & Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support a major programme within a highly regulated nuclear environment. This is a site-based role, requiring strong commissioning expertise and a proactive, safety-first approach. Role Overview Commissioning of building services and facility systems Support FAT / SAT and full system lifecycle testing Execute functional testing, validation, and handover activities Work closely with project teams to ensure compliance and delivery Systems In Scope HVAC / ventilation Fire detection & alarm systems CCTV & security systems Lighting & power distribution Mechanical & electrical plant Essential Requirements Nuclear experience (non-negotiable) Proven commissioning experience on large, regulated projects Strong background in building services / M&E systems Experience with FAT, SAT, and test documentation (test packs) Valid CSCS card (site access requirement) SC Clearance (or ability to obtain) Desirable Experience within Defence / high-security environments Relevant technical qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering discipline) Additional Info Full-time, site-based role (Burghfield) Occasional weekend work available (optional) Multiple positions availableIf you have the required nuclear commissioning experience, valid CSCS, and can meet security clearance requirements, apply now to be part of a critical UK programme
