Electrical Engineer - Building Services Location: Plymouth / Exeter Employment Type: Permanent Overview A leading global infrastructure consulting firm is expanding its Building Services Electrical Engineering teams across Exeter and Plymouth, supporting a growing portfolio of complex UK and international projects. The role sits within a multidisciplinary environment, delivering work across defence, transport, healthcare, education, commercial and public sector estates. A significant proportion of current workload includes secure and defence-related infrastructure. This is a design-focused role supporting full project lifecycle delivery from early concept through to detailed design and construction. Key Responsibilities Support electrical building services design across RIBA Stages 0–7 Assist in the design of LV distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, fire detection, small power and associated services Undertake engineering calculations including load assessments, cable sizing and lighting design Produce technical drawings, schematics, specifications and design reports using Revit and AutoCAD Work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary design teams Support coordination with architects, structural engineers and other MEP disciplines Attend design meetings and assist with technical queries during project delivery Support site inspections and respond to technical queries during construction Assist in the development of BIM and digital design workflows Requirements Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in building services design (consultancy preferred) Understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and BS standards Experience with Revit / AutoCAD advantageous Strong communication and willingness to develop technically Security Clearance eligibility advantageous due to defence-related projects Benefits Work for a globally recognised infrastructure consultancy Exposure to major UK defence and infrastructure programmes Structured professional development (IET / CIBSE pathways) Hybrid working environment Strong mentoring and technical support structure Long-term secured project pipeline If you're interested, please contact Conner Richards at RGB Recruitment – (url removed)
