- £46,914 Pro Rata Permanent | 0.8 FTE An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and innovative Teacher of Games Design to join a thriving Digital department within a leading creative and digital education provider in Salford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified educator or industry professional with experience in games design, 3D art, animation, or digital media to inspire the next generation of creative talent.
You will be joining a forward-thinking environment with industry-standard facilities, modern technology, and strong links with employers across the creative and gaming sectors.
The Role You will deliver engaging and inspiring Games Design lessons across Levels 1-3, supporting students to develop both technical and creative skills for progression into higher education or employment within the gaming and digital industries.
The successful candidate will have experience teaching or working within games design and a strong understanding of awarding bodies such as BTEC and OCR.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching across Games Design programmes Plan, assess, and provide effective feedback to students Support curriculum development within the Digital department Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching methods and new technologies Contribute to departmental moderation and quality assurance processes Maintain strong organisational and professional standards Requirements The ideal candidate will have: A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed) A relevant honours degree or substantial industry experience within Games Design Experience with 3D modelling and animation software such as Maya or Blender Experience using game engines including Unreal Engine or Construct 3 Knowledge of creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Davinci Resolve Understanding of games design pipelines, 3D art workflows, and project management Excellent organisational and communication skills A genuine passion for games design and the wider gaming industry Whats on Offer Generous annual leave package with approximately 13 weeks holiday per year Early finish on Fridays Free on-site parking Teachers Pension Scheme Family-friendly and flexible working policies Ongoing training and career development opportunities Staff wellbeing initiatives and wellbeing days Excellent employee benefits and retail discounts Supportive and inclusive working environment with strong staff engagement Safeguarding & Equality This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check in line with safeguarding requirements.
