M&E Estimator

Overview We are currently seeking a Proposals/Tendering Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality tenders and cost proposals for mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects in the water industry (both clean and wastewater sectors). Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed cost estimates and complete tender submissions for M&E projects in the water sector. * Interpret technical documentation, drawings, and client specifications to develop accurate and competitive proposals. * Work collaboratively with internal teams (engineering, procurement, and delivery) to gather technical and commercial input. * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotations for inclusion in tender packages. * Ensure all proposals comply with client requirements, company procedures, and relevant industry standards. * Support pre- and post-tender clarification processes, including attending site visits and client meetings as required. * Maintain and improve pricing models, templates, and cost databases to support estimating efficiency. Essential Requirements * Full UK driving licence * Strong initiative, reliability, and punctuality * Proven ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities * Strategic thinking and commercial awareness * Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
