Lead a Home Where Relationships Matter
We are seeking a passionate and committed Registered Manager to lead our established, Good-rated children's home in Newcastle.
This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to take the next step within a supportive, therapeutic and relationship-led organisation.
Our home provides care for up to four young people aged 10–18 who have experienced trauma, adversity and disrupted life experiences. We believe that positive outcomes are achieved through meaningful relationships, emotional safety, consistency and therapeutic care.
We are not an occupancy-driven provider. We place significant importance on appropriate matching, stability, and ensuring that every young person receives the individualised support they need to heal, develop and thrive.
Therapeutic Support and Clinical Oversight
We are committed to delivering truly trauma-informed care that is underpinned by clinical expertise, reflective practice and a deep understanding of child development and attachment.
The home benefits from close partnership working with our Clinical Psychology Service, ensuring each young person receives a therapeutic approach tailored to their individual needs and experiences.
In addition, the service is supported by an in-house CALM Associate who works alongside the home's leadership team and clinical professionals to help embed therapeutic principles into everyday practice. Through consultation, guidance and reflective support, they help create a consistent and emotionally informed environment for both young people and staff.
This integrated approach enables teams to better understand the impact of trauma, respond thoughtfully to complex behaviours and maintain a culture where relationships, regulation and emotional wellbeing remain central to practice.
Supportive Leadership and Reflective Practice
We recognise that leading a children's home can be professionally rewarding whilst also carrying significant emotional responsibility.
Our leadership model combines strong regulatory oversight with reflective, trauma-informed practice.
Our Responsible Individual works closely alongside our Clinical Psychologist and receives regular clinical supervision, helping to ensure therapeutic thinking is embedded throughout the organisation's leadership structure. Importantly, the Responsible Individual and Registered Manager share opportunities for reflective discussion and consultation, creating a culture where complex decisions can be explored collaboratively through both operational and therapeutic lenses.
Alongside formal supervision and regulatory oversight, Registered Managers are encouraged to engage in reflective practice, professional curiosity and collaborative problem-solving. We believe that effective leadership develops through supportive challenge, shared learning and genuine understanding of the complexities involved in caring for children who have experienced trauma.
Rather than focusing solely on compliance, we strive to create a culture where leaders feel supported, valued and empowered to make informed decisions that achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
