Facilities Assistant (SIA Licensed)
Location: City of London
Pay Rate: £18.32 per hour
Contract: Temporary, Full-Time - 35 hours per week
Sector: Higher Education
We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Assistant to join a busy and welcoming university campus in London. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of university buildings and ensuring a safe, clean, and positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Your new role
Assisting with room set-ups and moves for lectures, events, and conferences
Carrying out general porterage duties, including lifting and shifting furniture and equipment
Supporting waste management and recycling processes across campus
Conducting regular building checks and reporting maintenance issues
Providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors
Assisting with campus events and operational requirements
Monitoring access to buildings and responding to security-related matters where required
Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Working within the CCTV roomWhat you'll need to succeed
A valid SIA Licence (essential)
Previous experience in a facilities, porter, caretaker, security, or maintenance support role
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to undertake physical duties, including lifting and moving equipment
Reliable, professional, and able to work as part of a team
Flexible approach to work and willingness to support operational needs across campus
