Company Overview: Our client is a leading engineering consultancy specializing in building services and infrastructure projects. With an impressive portfolio of Ministry of Defence (MOD) projects, they have recently secured significant contracts in the Lancashire area. As a result, they are seeking a talented Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer to set up a new office and oversee the delivery of these projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team, initially working remotely, and play a pivotal role in establishing our client's presence in Lancashire area.Role Overview: The Principal/Associate Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects within the building services sector, with a strong emphasis on MOD projects. Working closely with clients, stakeholders, and project teams, the successful candidate will ensure the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion. Initially, they will work remotely until the office is ready, and then be at the forefront of establishing and growing our client's operations in Lancashire.Responsibilities:Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects within the building services sector, with a particular focus on MOD projects, ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and schedule requirements.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and relevant stakeholders, including MOD representatives.Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and construction phases.Oversee the production of technical specifications, calculations, drawings, and reports.Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to specifications and standards.Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.Stay updated with industry trends, codes, regulations, and advancements in building services and mechanical engineering.Requirements:Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.Extensive experience working on building services projects, including a proven track record of delivering successful MOD projects.Excellent knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.Proficiency in using relevant design software and tools.Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage a team.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to travel and work remotely until the new office is established.Our client offers a competitive salary package, commensurate with experience, along with excellent benefits and significant career growth opportunities.
