Java Developer – Banking Location: Chester, UK Experience: 5+ years Industry: Banking / Financial Services Ascendion is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a technology team supporting a leading Banking client in Chester. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java development, JVM technologies, application performance and scalable enterprise applications, ideally within a banking or financial services environment. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop and maintain robust, scalable and high-performance applications using Java. * Develop applications and services running on the JVM, with a strong understanding of JVM internals and runtime behaviour. * Analyse and resolve application performance, memory and concurrency issues. * Perform JVM tuning, including heap sizing, garbage collection and thread management. * Use JVM monitoring and profiling tools to identify performance bottlenecks and memory leaks. Essential Skills & Experience: * Strong commercial experience in Java 8/11/17+ * Strong understanding of JVM architecture and internals. * Hands-on experience with JVM performance tuning and troubleshooting
