Community Partners is looking for an experienced Procurement Transformation Advisor to support a major NHS organisation with a focused transformation and cost improvement programme across theatre supplies, procurement, inventory and supply chain management.
This is a hands-on delivery assignment requiring someone who can quickly understand the current position, identify opportunities for improvement and work alongside clinical, procurement and operational teams to turn those opportunities into measurable and sustainable financial and operational benefits.
The successful individual will bring strong NHS procurement and transformation experience, with the credibility to work directly with clinical teams and senior stakeholders while remaining close to the operational detail.
The assignment will include:
• Identifying and delivering significant recurring savings across theatre consumables and clinical supplies
• Reviewing current procurement, ordering, stockholding and inventory management processes
• Identifying opportunities for product rationalisation, standardisation and improved purchasing practices
• Reducing unnecessary variation, waste and excess stock while maintaining clinical quality and patient safety
• Strengthening procurement compliance, governance and financial controls
• Developing and embedding improved SOPs, processes and controls
• Supporting Scan for Safety readiness and associated improvements in inventory visibility and traceability
• Working closely with theatre teams, clinicians, procurement, finance and operational stakeholders
• Establishing robust benefits tracking to demonstrate savings and wider programme outcomes
• Developing clear performance reporting and providing updates to senior stakeholders
• Ensuring improvements are embedded and sustainable beyond the initial assignment
We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:
• Significant NHS procurement, supply chain or transformation experience
• A strong understanding of theatre supplies, clinical consumables, inventory management or related procurement categories
• A proven track record of delivering substantial and recurring cost improvements within an NHS environment
• Experience of procurement transformation, product rationalisation and/or stock optimisation
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage and influence clinicians and senior leaders
• The ability to analyse data, identify opportunities and translate findings into practical action
• A hands-on approach with the ability to work at pace and deliver tangible results
• Experience of benefits realisation, governance and performance reporting
This is not a purely strategic or remote advisory assignment. We need someone who is comfortable working on site, getting into the operational detail and taking ownership of delivery.
The organisation is looking to move quickly, so availability to start ASAP will be important. xwzovoh
If you have the relevant NHS procurement and transformation experience and are interested in discussing the assignment, please apply or contact Community Partners directly.
Thank you.
