About the role
We are recruiting for anambitious, growth-focused organisation to appoint a commercially driven Financial Director (CFO). This is a pivotal executive leadership role for an experienced finance professional who can provide strategic direction, drive performance, and support a dynamic and rapid growth agenda.
Location: Onsite in Birmingham
Salary: to 120k + bonus + bens
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the role holder will be responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's financial strategy, ensuring robust governance and controls, and providing the commercial insight required to support sustainable growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in investment decisions, funding strategies, business transformation initiatives, and potential M&A activity, while building strong relationships with investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
The role holder will lead all aspects of the finance function, including financial planning and analysis, reporting, treasury, audit, tax, risk management, and compliance. They will provide clear, data-driven insights that enable effective decision-making across the business, whilst ensuring financial operations remain scalable, efficient, and fit for future growth.
Beyond technical excellence, this role requires a highly collaborative leader who can influence at Board level, develop high-performing teams, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring a strong track record of supporting business growth, ideally within fast-paced or transformational environments, alongside experience of funding structures, M&A, commercial finance, and strategic transactions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience operating at Finance Director or Chief Financial Officer level.
You will have a proven ability to align financial strategy with commercial objectives, drive organisational performance, and support growth through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
You will possess exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and financial controls. Most importantly, you will be a commercially minded executive who thrives in ambitious environments and is motivated by the opportunity to influence business strategy and create long-term value.
