SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time
Term Time Only
Location: Romford (RM7)
Start Date: September 2026
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils requiring additional support, either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. You will collaborate with class teachers and the SEND team to implement support strategies, encourage pupil engagement, and promote both academic and personal development.
The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning experience for every child.
Key Responsibilities
Providing targeted support for pupils with SEN
Supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting with personalised learning and intervention programmes
Supporting communication, social, and emotional development
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Working closely with teachers, SEND staff, and parents where required

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Romford you will:
Previous experience working with children with SEN
Experience within a primary school setting (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Commitment to supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
