Financial Accountant Birmingham - 2 days/week in office Full time, Permanent £45,000 - £53,000 (depending on experience) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a growing energy business based in Birmingham. This role is ideal for an ACA-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a collaborative finance team focused on monthly and annual financial reporting. The Role You'll support the month-end close and reporting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls and compliance across the business. Key Responsibilities * Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances. * Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts. * Support monthly group reporting and controls processes. * Assist with annual audits and prepare supporting documentation. * Prepare statutory accounts for review. * Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. * Support VAT submissions and prepare information for external tax advisers. * Support finance process improvements and automation initiatives. About You * ACA qualified. * Strong financial accounting and reporting experience. * Advanced Excel skills - knowledge of power query/process automation would be useful. * Analytical with excellent attention to detail. * Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. * Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
