Commissioning Manager – Data Centre Location: Camberley, Surrey Contract Type: Contract Rate: £500–£600 per day DOE Start Date: 1 October 2026 Sector: Data Centres Data centre experience is essential for this position. The Role We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Camberley. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commissioning team, commissioning process, test packs, tagging systems and commissioning programme, ensuring all activities are properly coordinated through testing, completion and handover. Key Responsibilities * Manage and coordinate the commissioning team and specialist subcontractors. * Manage the overall commissioning process and programme. * Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, controls and associated systems. * Manage test packs, commissioning records and supporting documentation. * Manage and maintain the commissioning tagging and system-status process. * Track testing progress, outstanding actions, defects and snags. * Coordinate testing, energisation, isolations and LOTO requirements. * Ensure systems are ready for testing and commissioned in the correct sequence. * Chair commissioning meetings and provide progress updates. * Identify programme delays, commissioning risks and interface issues. * Manage commissioning close-out and support final client handover. Experience and Requirements * Previous Commissioning Manager experience within data centres is essential. * Strong experience managing commissioning teams and the overall commissioning process. * Experience managing commissioning programmes, test packs and tagging systems. * Good understanding of electrical and mechanical building-services systems. * Strong understanding of testing, commissioning sequences and system dependencies. * Knowledge of energisation, isolations, LOTO and safe systems of work. * Ability to read drawings, specifications and commissioning documentation. * Relevant engineering, building-services or trade background. * SMSTS and appropriate CSCS/ECS certification preferred. * Strong organisation, leadership and communication skills
