Process Engineer Salary and Benefits **Important candidates must have Permanent UK Right to Work**
Salary £50,000
36.5 hours per week, Monday Friday (with an earlier finish on Fridays)
Company bonus
34 days holiday (26 days + bank holidays)

Process Engineer Role Function
This is an excellent opportunity that offers the chance to make a real impact on manufacturing performance by leading improvement initiatives, optimising processes, and developing specialist expertise within a key operational function. You will play a key role in improving process control, reducing variation, and driving continuous improvement activities, while working closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams to solve day-to-day challenges and deliver process improvements and capital projects.
As a Process Engineer, you will be instrumental in improving process stability, maintaining high standards of product quality, reducing waste, and supporting safe, efficient manufacturing operations. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to influence change, implement improvements, and contribute to the ongoing success of the manufacturing environment.
Process Engineer Candidate Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience in a Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer role in a manufacturing environment
Apprentice-trained or qualified in Engineering, Process or Chemistry with a minimum HND (or equivalent)
Strong problem-solving skills with experience using root cause analysis tools and techniques
Knowledge and practical application of SPC and data analysis
Excellent collaboration skills able to work with a range of colleagues, using clear communication and influencing skills across all levels
Experience in continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Ability to plan and execute process trials and analyse results
Strong IT and analytical skills (Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with SCADA / HMI systems and industrial process control is advantageous
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
Health, Safety & Environment: Support a strong safety culture by promoting best practice, contributing to risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with HSE requirements and company procedures.
Manufacturing Process Control: Analyse and optimise manufacturing processes through data analysis, SPC techniques, GMP standards, and equipment calibration to maintain consistent performance, quality, and reliability.
Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement activities through structured problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis (RCA), Lean methodologies, Design of Experiments (DoE), and Motion Time Studies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Documentation & Quality Compliance: Maintain accurate process documentation, support ISO compliance requirements, and manage controlled changes to ensure processes remain effective and compliant.
Engineering Projects & Capital Investment: Assist with capital projects by supporting technical specifications, supplier engagement, equipment/process selection, and ensuring new processes are successfully implemented.
Teamwork & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to share knowledge, develop capability, and deliver sustainable improvements across the manufacturing operation.
