Overview: A leading industrial and commercial build main contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team based in Northampton.
With a strong pipeline of large-scale industrial, commercial, logistics, and mixed-use developments across the UK, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor offering long-term progression, flexible working, and involvement in high-profile projects.
The Role: As Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost plans across a range of major construction projects. You will work closely with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams to secure profitable new business opportunities.
The role offers hybrid / work-from-home flexibility alongside office and project involvement when required.
Key Responsibilities: Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial and commercial construction projects
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Producing detailed take-offs and pricing schedules
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
Identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
Attending tender meetings and client presentations
Supporting bid submissions and pre-construction activities
Liaising with operational, commercial, and design teams throughout the tender process
Assisting with handover of successful projects to delivery teams
Requirements: Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
Experience pricing industrial, commercial, logistics, xwzovoh or large-scale build projects
Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing
Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence
