RF / Microwave Technician - Contractor Location: Stevenage Contract: 3 months initially with permanancy offered depending on performance Working Pattern: Fully onsite Hours: 39 hours per week IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Rate: £25-£40 per hour, depending on experience Role Overview We are looking for an experienced RF / Microwave Technician to provide immediate contractor support to an engineering team in Stevenage. Key Responsibilities Conduct RF and microwave testing Perform filter testing and characterisation using appropriate RF/microwave test equipment. Work with and interpret VNA (Vector Network Analyser) measurements and results. Apply knowledge of switching speeds and associated RF/electronic test requirements. Set up, execute and document test activities in accordance with engineering requirements. Identify, investigate and resolve test issues and anomalies. Work from engineering documentation, schematics, drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Maintain accurate test records and technical documentation. Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support ongoing programme requirements. Undertake high-grade soldering and rework activities where required. Essential Experience Experience with VNAs Practical experience of filter testing Familiarity with switching speed and related electronic/RF test considerations. Practical laboratory/test engineering experience within an electronics, RF, microwave or high-reliability environment. Valid soldering certification. Experience working with BOMs and engineering documentation. Good Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel and related tools. Able to work independently in a fully onsite engineering environment
