The Role This is a senior back-end engineering position with real ownership and architectural influence.

You'll be designing, building, and optimising the server-side applications and APIs that power client digital experiences
- working closely with front-end engineers, DevOps specialists, and cloud architects to deliver robust, scalable solutions from concept to production.

Beyond the technical work, you'll help shape back-end engineering standards across the team and provide mentorship to junior developers.

What You'll Be Doing Design, develop, and maintain scalable Node.js microservices and applications built with TypeScript Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs using modern, best-in-class frameworks Work closely with DevOps and cloud engineering teams to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines and deployments across AWS and Azure Use serverless functions and cloud-managed services to build flexible, cost-effective solutions Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback that raises the standard of the wider team Contribute to architectural discussions and help guide technical decision-making across projects Stay current with emerging back-end technologies and identify where they can add value What You'll Need Essential 5+ years of professional back-end engineering experience, with at least 3 years in Node. xwzovoh js Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+) Proven experience building scalable APIs and microservices Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including serverless compute Solid understanding of authentication, authorisation, and API security best practices Desirable Experience with headless e-commerce platforms such as commercetools, Shopify Plus, or BigCommerce Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems (AWS EventBridge, Azure EventGrid) Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and ORM/ODM frameworks Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CDK The Package £50,000
