Water Infrastructure | AMP8 Programme
Location: Oxfordshire
We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major portfolio of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the South East.
This is an opportunity to join a growing delivery team working across a varied programme of works, ranging from capital maintenance projects through to large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure schemes.
The RoleReporting into the commercial leadership team, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual performance of projects throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and issue accurate, timely and contract-compliant notices and correspondence
- Identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities to project leadership
- Prepare and agree applications for payment and support assessment of payment certificates
- Maintain records relating to variations, extensions of time, delays and claims
- Ensure commercial processes and procedures are implemented consistently
- Support the preparation of monthly valuations and applications for completed works
- Assist with tender negotiations and commercial reporting where required
- Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts and project commercial updates
- Support value engineering and risk management activities
- Prepare, negotiate and administer subcontract and supply chain agreements
- Implement effective change management and cost control processes
- Maintain awareness of current construction and engineering contract forms
- Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across projects
You will bring strong commercial awareness together with a practical and collaborative approach to project delivery.
We are looking for:
- Proven commercial and financial management experience within construction or infrastructure environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience managing commercial reporting, valuations and contract administration
- Ability to prepare contractual correspondence and support dispute avoidance
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrable understanding of construction law and contract principles
- Organised and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence to influence decisions and work effectively across project teams
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- RICS or CICES accredited qualification preferred
