About therole

We are looking for an experienced and inspirational social work leader to join our Academy as Curriculum & Progression Team Manager.

The Academy plays a key role in supporting the development of outstanding social workers and leaders who create positive change for children, youngpeopleand families. The successful candidate will lead on progression activity across Children's Social Care, helping to shape learning, development and career pathways whilst ensuring high-quality practice across services.

Working alongside the Academy Principal Social Worker, you will provide leadership for learning and development, qualityassuranceand workforce progression, supporting staff to achieve their full potential and deliver the best possible outcomes for children and families.

You will

  • Lead progression and career development activity across Children's Social Care

  • Supervise and support Academy colleagues

  • Develop and deliver high-quality learning and development programmes

  • Lead quality assurance activity, including audits,observationsand reflective supervision

  • Support professional accreditation and workforce development pathways

  • Promote evidence-informed and innovative social work practice

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners

  • Contribute to service improvement and workforce development strategies

You will have

  • Social Work England registration

  • Significant experienceworking within statutory children's social care

  • Operational management experience within children's services

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

  • Experience of quality assurance and performance improvement

  • Experience of coaching, mentoring,trainingor workforce development

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Commitment to developing and inspiring others

What it will involve

  • Leading the development and delivery of the Academy curriculum

  • Supporting practice improvement across Children's Services

  • Ensuring professional standards and accreditation requirements are met

  • Managing quality assurance activities and reporting findings

  • Supporting staff progression and career pathways

  • Working collaboratively with operational services and stakeholders

  • Managing resources and contributing to service planning and development

Additional Information

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

The post holder must hold a driving licence, have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel countywide asrequired. The role will involve close working with frontline services and supporting practice development across Children's Services.
