About the role
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation to recruit a Senior HSE Advisor.As a Senior HSE Advisor, you will provide expert guidance and leadership across all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance. Supporting both operational teams and senior management, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance, improving HSE systems, and driving initiatives that enhance safety, environmental performance, and employee wellbeing.In your new role:Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy and management systemsProvide expert HSE advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, and operational teamsPromote a positive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and behavioural safety initiativesEnsure compliance with UK and Northern Ireland Health, Safety, and Environmental legislationLead risk assessments, safe systems of work, and method statement reviews across operational activitiesConduct incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actionsCarry out workplace inspections, internal audits, and support external regulatory and certification auditsDeliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes across the businessSupport environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and occupational health and wellbeing programmesMonitor HSE performance, analyse KPI trends, and prepare reports to support continuous improvementAssist in maintaining and developing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systemsWhat you'll need to succeed:Previous experience within a Health, Safety & Environmental roleExperience within manufacturing, engineering, or another industrial environmentStrong knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland Health & Safety and Environmental legislationProven experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigationsExcellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvementAbility to influence and engage colleagues at all levels of the organisationDesirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualificationIOSH membership or membership of an equivalent professional bodyExperience maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systemsKnowledge of environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and occupational health programmesExperience supporting behavioural safety programmes and organisational culture changeFor a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health & Safety Specialist, today.Discipline(s): Environmental, Health & SafetyJob type: Permanent
