About the role

Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Haslingden, Lancashire

White Label is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for one of our key clients in Haslingden, a specialist, market-leading manufacturer. You’ll join their established engineering team and design low-voltage electrical systems for refrigeration, lighting, camera, safety and power applications.

You’ll be involved from start to finish, from customer requirements and first concepts through to production release. The aim is electrical systems that are reliable, compliant and practical to build. If you’re an auto electrician who wants to move into design, or an electrical engineer from a vehicle, mobile machinery or equipment background who wants real ownership of your designs, this could be the role for you.

Job Responsibilities:

* Designing low-voltage electrical systems for specialist temperature-controlled equipment and bespoke customer applications

* Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation documentation and accurate electrical BOMs

* Designing wiring looms and control circuits that integrate safely with third-party electrical systems, working from manufacturer information

* Integrating refrigeration systems, lifting equipment, internal and external lighting, camera and safety systems, solar, battery and charging systems, and telematics

* Working with component and wiring loom suppliers to make sure parts meet specification

* Supporting testing and design verification, investigating electrical issues and building in design improvements

* Giving technical support to Production and Aftersales teams

* Helping shape the company’s future electrical standards and technologies

Experience required:

* A qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline

* Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, with the ability to produce and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams

* Experience using CAD to produce engineering documentation and creating BOMs

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good communication and organisation

It would be great if you also have:

* An understanding of CAN Bus

* Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical or similar

Why apply?
You’ll have real influence over how the systems are designed and the chance to help set future electrical standards across the business. You’ll also work on varied, practical engineering on products that matter.
