What you will be doing:


As the Engineering Stores Person you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop and manufacturing activities. You will be responsible for managing stock, goods inwards and outwards, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting our engineering team with efficient stores management.


Principle Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all stores activities are completed in a timely manner and in line with departmental KPI targets.
  • Receive, inspect and process all incoming deliveries daily, ensuring goods are booked into stock or quality control and correctly located within the stores.
  • Pick and issue parts from the stores to support production, workshop and customer requirements.
  • Deliver picked orders and materials to relevant departments across the site.
  • Ensure all picks and stock movements are processed accurately each day, communicating any shortages or issues promptly.
  • Complete daily Perpetual Inventory (PI) stock counts and investigate, reconcile and report any stock discrepancies.
  • Process stock credits, including internal works orders and external sales orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock locations are clearly identified and organised.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve stores processes, procedures and associated IT systems.
  • Ensure all stores processes and procedures are documented, maintained and kept up to date.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment through effective housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety requirements and ISO9001 procedures.
  • Support departmental objectives and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

What we’re looking for


Experience:


  • Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or stores environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with ISO9001 standard.
  • Ability to manage inventory accurately and efficiently.
  • Good IT skills, including experience with stock control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred. xwzovoh
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
