Who we are

The British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) is the professional membership organisation for urologists and urological teams across the UK. As a registered charity with more than 2,500 members, we bring together consultants, trainees and allied healthcare professionals committed to improving outcomes for people living with urological conditions.

Founded in 1945, BAUS exists to promote the highest standards in the practice of urology through education, research and clinical excellence. We deliver education and training throughout every stage of a clinical career, convene one of Europe’s leading urology conferences and undertake nationally recognised audits and workforce reporting that help shape healthcare policy and patient outcomes.

About the role

This leadership role sits at the heart of BAUS’ next phase of development. Working closely with the CEO and wider leadership team, the Head of Operations will lead our operational strategy across finance, HR, governance, systems, compliance and organisational planning. The role combines strategic oversight with practical delivery, helping ensure BAUS has the operational confidence, resilience and infrastructure needed to support future growth.

BAUS is entering a significant period of organisational development, including a major digital transformation programme spanning CRM, website and member systems redevelopment. You will play a central part in helping the organisation evolve with confidence, supporting both day-to-day operational excellence and longer-term organisational improvement.

Alongside overseeing finance, risk and operational governance, you will work closely with colleagues, trustees, members and external partners to help create an organisation that feels collaborative, well-supported and forward-looking.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a collaborative and values-led operational leader who enjoys improving how organisations work. You will bring experience across finance, organisational operations and corporate services within a purpose-led environment, alongside the confidence to operate across governance, compliance and organisational planning.

This is a role for someone who combines strong operational and financial oversight with curiosity, initiative and thoughtful leadership.
