Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Salisbury, Wiltshire
£55,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + BUPA Family Healthcare + Pension + Early Finish Friday

As part of ongoing succession planning, we are looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing products and supporting others within the team.
You'll play a key role in the development, improvement and manufacture of electromechanical products, working closely with production, suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, commercially viable engineering solutions.
The Role
- Lead mechanical design activities from concept through to manufacture.
- Drive New Product Development (NPD) and continuous product improvement projects.
- Produce and review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to improve product performance, reliability and manufacturability.
- Support validation, testing, DFMEA and root cause investigations.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications, quality and design improvements.
- Provide mentoring and technical support to junior members of the engineering team.
- Collaborate with electrical and multidisciplinary engineering functions to deliver integrated product solutions.
The Person
- Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar.
- Experience delivering products from concept through to production.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Experience working within product development or engineering design environments.
- Exposure to electromechanical products, electrical integration or automation systems.
- Previous mentoring, supervisory or line management experience.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality and supplier teams.
- CAD experience such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar.
Package
- Salary up to £65,000 DOE
