About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Primary SEN Class Teacher to join a supportive and highly regarded specialist setting supporting pupils with ASD/ASC diagnoses.
The school caters for children from EYFS through to Year 6, and experience within EYFS and/or KS1 would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning, alongside the ability to raise and sustain achievement for pupils with a range of complex SEND needs. We are looking for a teacher with the vision, creativity, and drive to deliver meaningful, personalised curricula that provide appropriate stretch and challenge, enabling every child to achieve their full potential.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have a secure understanding of SEND, particularly ASD/ASC
* Be an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues
* Have experience supporting or teaching non-verbal students
* Be familiar with alternative communication approaches
* Understand sensory processing needs and behaviour as a form of communication and learning need
* Create engaging, nurturing, and inclusive learning environments
