Job Title: Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher
Location: Secondary School in the Haringey Borough
Contract Type: Full-Time Paid to scale inner london QTS DBS required
Reports To: Head of Physical Education Department
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Delivery:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality P.E. lessons in accordance with the national curriculum and departmental guidelines.
* Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and ensure an inclusive learning environment.
2. Student Assessment:
* Conduct regular assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities and progress.
* Provide constructive feedback to students, and communicate assessment outcomes to parents during parent-teacher meetings.
3. Extracurricular Activities:
* Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and teams, fostering student participation and promoting a culture of physical fitness.
4. Sports Events and Competitions:
* Coordinate and participate in school sports events, competitions, and inter-school tournaments.
* Encourage students to showcase their skills and sportsmanship during events.
5. Equipment and Facility Management:
* Ensure the proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
* Collaborate with the school administration to identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns related to P.E. facilities.
6. Health and Safety Compliance:
* Adhere to health and safety guidelines during physical education classes and activities.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize potential hazards.
7. Student Discipline:
* Implement and uphold school policies on behavior and discipline during P.E. classes and related activities.
* Foster a positive and respectful environment for students to engage in physical activities.
8. Professional Development:
* Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of new developments in physical education.
* Attend relevant workshops, training, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
Skills and Attributes:
* Passion for promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective classroom management and organizational abilities.
* Enhanced DBS on update service
* Team player with the ability to collaborate with colleagues in the P.E. department and across the school
