Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEND & SEMH | Bradford

The Supply Register is working in partnership with Beckfoot Trust to recruit a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the SEN provision at Beckfoot Thornton.

This is a full-time, term-time-only fixed-term opportunity running until December 2026. The successful candidate will support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SEND team, delivering targeted interventions and providing personalised support to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role – HLTA / SEND Support

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with additional needs through individual and small-group learning activities.

Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions for pupils with SEND.

Support students with SEMH needs, emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours.

Implement individual support plans and tailored learning strategies.

Promote confidence, resilience, independence and engagement in learning.

Monitor pupil progress and work alongside teachers, the SENCO and pastoral teams.

What We're Looking For

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience supporting teaching and learning.

Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly SEMH.

Confidence delivering individual and small-group interventions.

Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

A calm, patient and proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
