Job Description Head of Employment – Birmingham /n Birmingham | National Law Firm | Leadership Opportunity /n An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Employment to join the Birmingham office of a highly regarded national law firm. /n This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Employment lawyer who is looking to take a genuine leadership role within an established national practice and play a key part in its continued growth and development. /n The Role /n As Head of Employment, you will take responsibility for the continued development of the Birmingham Employment team, providing strategic direction, technical leadership and commercial support. /n You will work closely with the firm's senior leadership team and colleagues across the national Employment practice, helping to develop the firm's client offering and identify opportunities for further growth. /n Your responsibilities will include: /n Leading and developing the Birmingham Employment team /n Managing a high-quality and varied caseload of employment matters /n Advising senior management and HR teams on complex employment issues /n Handling contentious and non-contentious employment matters /n Developing and maintaining strong client relationships /n Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities /n Supporting the growth and development of junior lawyers /n Working collaboratively with the wider national Employment team /n Contributing to the firm's strategic and commercial objectives /n Building the Birmingham Employment practice and enhancing its market profile /n About You /n We are looking for an experienced Employment Partner or senior Employment lawyer who can demonstrate: /n Significant experience across a broad range of employment law matters /n Strong technical expertise and commercial awareness /n Proven leadership and team management experience /n An excellent track record of developing client relationships /n A strong appetite for business development /n The ability to identify and convert new opportunities /n A collaborative and engaging leadership style /n The ambition to play a key role in growing a successful Employment practice /n A portable following would be highly advantageous, although the key requirement is the ability to demonstrate a strong commercial and business development track record. /n The Opportunity /n This is more than simply a team leadership position.
