Commodity Buyer Location: Oxfordshire Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Workchain is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected UK manufacturing business that designs and produces premium products for customers across the global luxury market. Drawing on a strong heritage of quality manufacturing and continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced Commodity Buyer to join their growing Supply Chain team. The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated procurement professional to take ownership of a specialist commodity group and play a key role in supporting production and business objectives. You will manage supplier relationships, ensure material availability, drive supplier performance, and work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain an efficient and cost-effective supply chain. Key Responsibilities * Place purchase orders in a timely manner to support production demand. * Ensure materials and components are delivered in line with required schedules. * Manage and maintain supplier information within the ERP system. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. * Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement activities. * Keep purchase order delivery dates accurate and up to date within SAP. * Resolve supply chain issues proactively to minimise business disruption. * Support wider purchasing and supply chain activities as required. What We're Looking For * Previous purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment. * Experience managing suppliers and procurement activities within a commodity group. * Strong ERP system experience, preferably SAP. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering data. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving. * Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work effectively under pressure. * Team player with a positive and professional attitude. Desirable Experience * Procurement, business, or supply chain related qualifications. * Experience within engineering, automotive, marine, aerospace, or other technical manufacturing sectors. * Knowledge of composites, mechanical assemblies, engines, or specialist components.
