Technician (Mechanical Fitter)

Mechanical Technician – CCGT Power Station Competitive salary + benefits SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance team of a modern CCGT power station in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire This role focuses on delivering safe, reliable mechanical maintenance across the plant, supporting availability, efficiency, and long-term asset performance. The successful candidate will work closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure all mechanical equipment is maintained to a high standard. Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on rotating and static plant equipment · Maintenance and overhaul of pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, heat exchangers and associated systems · Supporting maintenance activities across turbine auxiliaries and balance of plant · Preparing method statements and risk assessments for maintenance activities · Managing and supervising contractors during outages and routine works · Completing maintenance activities in line with site procedures, permits and isolation requirements · Updating maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS · Supporting outages, inspections and major overhauls · Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping This is a days based role, Monday to Friday A recognised mechanical qualification at HNC or NVQ Level 3 or higher along with a time served apprenticeship · Mechanical maintenance experience in a power generation or a heavy industrial/process environment (e.g. CCGT, CHP, EfW, refinery, petrochemical). Marine Engineers from the Royal or Merchant Navy would also suit · Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience across plant equipment · Experience working with contractors and supporting outage activities · Competitive salary up to circa £50,000 · A South East allowance of £2,000 · Bonus up to 17.5% · Further retention bonus – details on request · Private medical cover · Life assurance · Pension · 36 days holiday inclusive of BH · Overtime opportunities at 1.5x · Ongoing training and development
